Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will set up the “Macao Pavilion” at this year’s Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) in March and the bureau is now calling for local film and TV production entities to apply as exhibitors to join the Macao Pavilion.
Application is free of charge and open until 16 January to Macau companies with experience in assisting a minimum of six non-local film and TV projects shot in the SAR between 2014 and 2024.
IC will select a maximum of eight companies based on experience in assisting film and TV projects from places other than mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan produced in town, the scale of non-local film and TV projects produced in Macau, as well as the duties they are responsible for.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), FILMART 2025 is scheduled to run from 17-20 March. Last year’s event was attended by over 7,500 film and TV industry practitioners from 27 countries and regions, demonstrating its role as an important platform for providing co-production opportunities in the Asian region.
Furthermore, the Macao Pavilion offers “a good platform for the industry to explore exchange and cooperation opportunities, and boost the synergy between the cultural and creative industries and the tourism sector”, according to IC.
