The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in the Philippine capital of Manila has made headlines recently after a screening officer at the airport’s Terminal 1 was arrested for allegedly stealing a watch owned by a Chinese passenger on 1 March. Prior to this case, five Office for Transportation Security (OTS) officers at NAIA were suspended after viral videos circulating online showed them allegedly extorting money from a Thai tourist on 22 February.
