The “2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Shorts Film Festival” will take place this coming September and the organisers are now calling for Macau short films to be submitted for the event’s “Macao Shorts” segment, with registration running until 21 July, offering winners a trophy and cash prize up to MOP 45,000, according to Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).

Jointly organised by IC and Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), the event is held with the aim to encourage local film production talent, build a repository of local short films, as well as expand opportunities for international exchange and collaboration, the bureau has pointed out in its press release.

All Macau residents are invited to submit their works for the short film festival, which will be held at the Galaxy Cinemas, Galaxy International Convention Center and at Andaz Macau in Galaxy Macau Integrated Resort in Cotai, as well as at the Cinematheque・Passion in the city centre.

The deadline to submit the application form along with the required materials in person is 5:45 pm on 21 July. Alternatively, applicants can make their submissions by scanning and e-mailing all the documents to MISFF_msfu@icm.gov.mo by 11:59 pm on 21 July (the attachments should not exceed 10MB and download link of the short film may be included).

For more information about the event, including rules and application forms, visit IC’s or the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries’ websites or contact 8399 6297/8399 6295. – GNM
