MICHELLE YEOH BECOMES FIRST ASIAN TO WIN BEST ACTRESS OSCAR

Michelle Yeoh has become the first Asian to win an Oscar in Best Actress category for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, the same role that made her the first Malaysian to receive a Golden Globe earlier this year. In addition, she is the second woman of colour to win in the category after Halle Berry.

Meanwhile, Brendan Fraser won the Best Actor for “The Whale”, while Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan won the Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively, with Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert awarded the Best Original Screenplay and Best Director awards, all for “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, which also won Best Picture.
