Indonesia will soon have a smelting plant that can produce up to 50 tonnes of gold per year, Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) President Director Tony Wenas said recently. In addition, the PTFI-owned factory located in Gresik, East Java will have the capacity to produce around 150-200 tonnes of silver and 600,000 tonnes of copper cathodes per year, according to a report by CNBC Indonesia.
