The Australian Consulate-General in Hong Kong is inviting the Australian global alumni community to join technology entrepreneur and start-up robotics company Aubot’s founding CEO Marita Cheng, an advocate for women in technology, in a talk about the impact of technology on work and lives, inclusive robotics, as well as tips for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), which will take place in Hong Kong on 22 March.
The talk, entitled ”Robotics, AI and inclusive futures with Marita Cheng”, will be held at the Australian consulate on the 24th floor of Harbour Centre in Wan Chai from 5-7 pm. The consulate is particularly encouraging all women in STEM who studied in Australia to join this talk, which is supported by The Federation of Australian Alumni Associations Hong Kong (FAAA) and the Alumni Association of the University of Melbourne (Hong Kong).
Born in Cairns in 1989, Cheng was named the Young Australian of the Year in 2012 and she was included on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016. In 2019, Cheng was appointed a member of the Order of Australia for significant service to science and technology, especially robotics.
