The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Organising Committee of the Bocuse d’Or announced on Friday that the “Bocuse d’Or”, the premier international culinary competition celebrated as the “Olympics of gastronomy”, will run its Asia-Pacific selection in Macau on 1 and 2 November 2026.
Coordinated by MGTO, the “Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific 2026” will mark the return of this globally-prestigious event to the Asia-Pacific region since 2018, which symbolises a new milestone for Macau in delivering international influence as a Creative City of Gastronomy, according to MGTO.
As the third continental selection in the competition to the Grand Final, Bocuse d’Or Asia-Pacific 2026 will bring together eight outstanding teams in Macau this November, with contesting teams to compete through two days of culinary challenges for the honoured places onto the final stage. Winners from various continental selections will meet in the Grand Final, to take place at Sirha Lyon – an international trade fair for the catering and hospitality industry – in January 2027.
Founded in 1987, the Bocuse d’Or is a biennial global chef championship acclaimed for the professional excellence of entry dishes and the rigorous system of the competition. Over a two-year period, contestant teams compete across national and continental selections before entering the global Grand Final. It is hailed as the most challenging and spectacular cooking competition in the world.
