Chinese former professional tennis player Li Na, who was a WTA world No. 2 and two-time Grand Slam singles champion, will lead a group of tennis elites in a team competition at the upcoming “2024 MGM Macau Tennis Masters”, which will take place at The Macao Forum on 24 and 25 December.
Li was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2019 and is beloved by fans for both her skills and personality. The upcoming tournament will be her first time to play as a captain.
Meanwhile, Li’s group will compete against another group led by US former tennis player Michael Chang.
The other tennis greats scheduled to participate in the tournament are Casper Ruud, Lorenzo Musetti, Juncheng Shang, Andrey Rublev, Xinyu Wang and Karolina Muchova.
The 2024 MGM Macau Tennis Masters is co-organised by MGM and IMG, with the support of Macau’s Sports Bureau (ID), Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Macau Tennis Association, together with the event’s distinguished partners that include official outfitter Fila, official airline Eva Air and official water Bonaqua.
