Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) launched on 31 October an exhibition at the Macao Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Art Space, titled “Shared Roots and Interconnected Branches: The Importance of National Culture and Sentiment within the Heart of Macao’s Historical Buildings”, with the aim to deepen the public’s understanding of the relationship between the SAR’s historical buildings and the nation’s historical events.
Organised by IC, the exhibition is co-organised by Art Exhibition China and features over 100 pieces/sets of precious historical pictures and relics in relation to Macau’s historical buildings.
The historical buildings in Macau are mainly of both Portuguese and Lingnan architecture, which not only showcase the beauty of integration but also demonstrate the SAR’s important role in the history of China.
Many of the local historical buildings have significant cultural value as the site of important historical events, such as the Mandarin’s House, General Ye Ting’s Former Residence, Kiang Wu Hospital, and Pou Chai Temple.
The exhibition is open from 10 am to 7 pm daily, except Monday, until 1 January 2025. Admission is free. For more information visit the Macao Museum’s website.
