A total of 22 fourth-year students of Macao University of Tourism’s (UTM) Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts Management presented their final menu, concluding their Food and Culture course, in a fine dining set-up at the university’s Educational Restaurant at the Mong-Ha Campus mid this week.

Lecturer Marieta Wong said: “The course aims to show different cultures to the students and the final menu is a showcase to their friends and family of what they have learnt throughout the course and their four years in UTM.”

The participating students were divided into two groups of 11 – Group A (Asian menu) and Group B (Western menu). Around 60 friends and relatives of the students were served during the fine dining, priced at MOP 240 per person. The five-course meal included appetizers, soup, entrée and dessert.

One of the participating students, Lorna Ng, said the course has helped her learn about how big the food industry is. She added, “It expands what I know about food production.” (Gilbert Humphrey)
