The UN Human Rights Council on Thursday elected Ambassador Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro (pictured) of Indonesia as president of the Geneva-based body for a one-year term ending at the end of this year.
Suryodipuro, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the United Nations Office, was nominated by the Group of Asia Pacific States. He will preside over the Council during its 20th cycle, which marks two decades since the Council’s founding in 2006, according to the UNHRC.
