The Indonesian government has recently said the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail’s launch will not be delayed and it will begin service operations as scheduled, in August, underlining that more Chinese workers may be brought into the country for the high-speed rail’s initial operations, according to a report by The Jakarta Post. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail is said to be the most high-profile of China’s Belt and Road Initiative projects in Indonesia. Both countries signed an agreement to establish the joint venture to build and operate the high-speed rail back in October 2015, according to a Xinhua report.
