Yanuarius Teofilus Matopai You has succeeded Leo Laba Ladjar as the bishop of Papua, officially becoming the Indonesian province’s first native bishop when he was ordained by the Apostolic Nuncio to Indonesia, Monsignor Piero Poppio, in Jayapura’s Christ the King Cathedral – witnessed by bishops from Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.
