The “International Gastronomy Forum, Macao”, one of the major highlights of the currently ongoing “2026 International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao”, will be held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf on Monday.

Organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the nine-day gastronomy festival kicked off yesterday and will run through 29 March.

During Monday’s forum, UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) representatives and the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, international content creators, as well as culinary and academic professionals will share insightful perspectives.

The forum is slated to be attended by nearly 50 member cities of UCCN in gastronomy and other fields, experts and scholars, as well as members of local tourism and catering sectors, according to MGTO.

Their discussions will foster preservation, innovation and exchange among Creative Cities of Gastronomy and ignite new momentum across creative fields, unleashing Macau’s strengths as an international exchange and cooperation platform, the tourism office has pointed out.

Themed “Creative Fusion: Reimagining Gastronomy Beyond the Plate”, with Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post as the collaborative partner, the forum will deliver three keynote presentations and three breakout sessions from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Speakers will shed light on how to advance Creative Cities’ development through collaboration between gastronomy and other fields, as well as create a new dynamic that connects daily life and sustainable development by weaving together stories, experiences and innovation. The forum is open to the public with free admission. More details can be found via this link. – GNM
