Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Industrial Association of Macau have for the first time set up the Macao Pavilion at the “Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024”, which is taking place in Singapore from 6-9 December.
Macau’s participation in the “Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024” is meant to assist local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in gaining insights into the global consumer market and capitalising on opportunities in the “halal” product sector, according to IPIM.
Halal refers to food allowed under the Islamic law.
At the expo, over 250 “Made in Macao” and “Macao Brand” products will be showcased, of which nearly 80 per cent are halal-certified products or the distinguished “M Brand” quality Macau products – allowing the 24 participating Macau SMEs to engage with around 300,000 industry professionals and visitors from across the globe.
Organised by the Singapore Food Manufacturers’ Association, the “Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024” – one of the Southeast Asian country’s most-influential food expos – is taking place at the Singapore Expo, with a 10,000-square-metre exhibition area and more than 200 exhibitors from mainland China and Singapore.
