The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) set up the “Macao-Hengqin Pavilion” at the IMEX Frankfurt 2024 held in Germany from 14-16 May, during which IPIM and 10 Macau MICE companies – including convention and exhibition service providers and integrated tourism and leisure enterprises – held seven “Macao-Hengqin MICE Environment Promotion Seminars” and facilitated over 280 business matching sessions.
The seminars were aimed at promoting Macau’s and Hengqin’s unique advantages in MICE environment and facilities, entry and exit policies, as well as logistics and support services, in a bid to expand the region’s international MICE customer base, according to IPIM.
In addition, the IPIM-led delegation participated in the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference hosted by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) during their time there to discuss the development and opportunities of the industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
They also participated in multiple exchange activities at the IMEX Frankfurt, with the hope of strengthening international cooperation.
IMEX Frankfurt is one of Europe’s largest conference and incentive travel exhibitions. The Macao-Hengqin Pavilion covered an area of nearly 100 square metres. It was the first time for “MICE² Macao x Hengqin” to promote the “Multi-venue Event” in Germany.
Meanwhile, IPIM also organised a delegation of 18 Macau entrepreneurs from the food and beverage sector to participate in the “APAS SHOW 2024” in São Paulo, Brazil from 11-17 May. During this trip, IPIM held a Macau-Hengqin investment environment exchange activity with over 70 invited representatives of local Brazilian economic and trade institutions, chambers of commerce and corporates.
