The Macao Polytechnic University’s (MPU) One Country, Two Systems Research Centre gave 41 lectures to a combined total of some 8,300 students at 30 local secondary schools throughout last year to further deepen local students’ understanding of the Constitution, Macao Basic Law and the Law on Safeguarding National Security, as well as to create a “good environment for knowing, abiding by and protecting the law”, according to the university.

Titled “ Constitution and Basic Law on Campus”, the lectures were held from January to December 2023 in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of the Macao Basic Law. Furthermore, the lectures were aimed at “helping middle schools students understand the role of the Constitution and the Macao Basic Law in ensuring the long-term prosperity and development of Macau and the safety and contentment of residents”.
