Three top government officials have tested positive for Covid-19 as Macau people are urged by local health authorities to prepare for a new surge in cases this month by observing preventive measures, such as getting vaccinated and wearing facemasks as much as possible. The three officials who have become infected by Covid are Secretary for Administration and Justice Andre Cheong, Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak and Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao, the city’s Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre revealed recently.
Meanwhile, Health Bureau (SS) Director Alvis said on the sideline of BEYOND Expo 2023’s healthcare summit at The Venetian Macao in Cotai recently that the number of new Covid infections in the city has risen to up to around 70 over recent days, according to a report by The Macau Post Daily.
