Macao University of Tourism (UTM) is launching three master’s degree programmes in cultural-related areas as well as one in luxury hospitality and health service management in the new academic year of 2025/2026, the university has announced.
The new programmes are in line with UTM’s commitment to promote appropriate economic diversification of the Macau SAR and cooperate with the “Policy Framework of the Development of the Cultural Industry of Macau”, according to the university’s press release.
UTM believes that the new programmes will help promote Macau’s “1+4” economic diversification strategy and such contribution will strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration in the concept of “Tourism +” while utilising the integration of cultural heritage and cultural and creative industry for the sustainable development, while also promoting health tourism and the integration of the application and practices of wellness services in luxury hospitality in a bid to further help Macau build itself into a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure”, the press release point outs.
