Jane Dipika Garrett has recently been crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2023, making her the first plus-size winner of the Miss Universe pageant. The 22-year-old nursing student from Kathmandu, who is part American, beat 20 other contestants and will now represent Nepal at the Miss Universe global final in El Salvador in November. Meanwhile, the Miss Universe organisation recently also officially scrapped its age limit requirement for candidates from both the international pageant and its affiliated local pageants, effective beginning 2024, according to various media reports.
