Opal Suchata Chuangsri, a 21-year-old Thai model and political science student of Thammasat University who is fluent in Thai, English and Chinese, was crowned Miss World 2025 in India last night, making her the first Thai contestant to win the beauty pageant.
Previously, she won Miss Universe Thailand 2024 and finished as third runner-up at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant.
Chuangsri (pictured) succeeded Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, beating 107 other contestants.
Meanwhile, Ethiopian Hasset Dereje Admassu and Poland’s Maja Klajda finished as first and second runners-up, respectively, in the Miss World 2025 pageant, while Aurélie Joachim of the French region of Martinique became the third runner-up last night. (Gilbert Humphrey)
