Portuguese wine will benefit from Macau’s rapid economic recovery, an expert said on the sidelines of the “Wines of Portugal Grand Tasting Macau 2023”, which was held at MGM Cotai’s Vista Room on Tuesday, showcasing around 250 wines from 26 Portuguese wine producers that represent Portugal’s 10 key wine regions – including Douro, Alentejo, Dão, Lisboa and Setúbal.
“Macau is entering a dynamic growth period and Portuguese wine will play an important part in that, and benefit from the region’s rapid economic recovery,” said Camilo Leite, representing Boas Quintas wine estate. Organised by Wines of Portugal, the event was attended by more than 200 wine professionals and consumers, as well as Portuguese Consul-General to Macau and Hong Kong Alexandre Leitão. He said: “Portuguese wine is the best match for the vibrant restaurant scene of Macau.”
