SAUDI ARABIA TO JOIN MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT FOR FIRST TIME
Rumy Al-Qahtani, a 27-year-old Riyadh-based model and influencer with more than a million followers, will represent Saudi Arabia, for the first time in history, in the Miss Universe beauty pageant this year.
Qahtani, who has a degree in dentistry, is a beauty pageant veteran who has won several competitions since she was crowned Miss Saudi Arabia in 2021, including the Miss Middle East and Miss Arab World Peace Titles. In addition to her native Arabic, she is fluent in English and French.
“I am honoured to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition,” she said in an Instagram post on Monday.
Miss Universe 2024, the pageant’s 73rd edition, is scheduled to be held in Mexico in September this year, when the current Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, will crown her successor.
