Hylo Athletics, a performance running shoes brand from the United Kingdom, has entered the local market, with a launch event held at the Unique X shop on Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva on 27 September.
Founded by former professional football player Michael Doughty, with the mission of “Run Like The World Depends On It”, Hylo Athletics running shoes are “a fusion of high performance, sustainability and environmental protection,” Hylo Athletics Brand Manager and Co-Founder Jacob Green said during the launch event.
He also said: “In addition to reducing carbon emissions by about 40 per cent during the production process, the products are made from 40 per cent bio materials and can be recycled and reused at the end of their lifespan. The brand hopes to create high-performance products while also contributing to the environmental protection of the earth.”
According to Green, the brand’s first high-performance shoe, IMPACT, is a neutral running shoe with a highly resilient midsole and an anti-slip outsole designed with reference to F1 racing tires, offering superior comfort, durability and grip compared to other running shoes.
Currently, Hylo Athletics shoes are available at Unique X shops on Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva and at The Venetian Macao, Shop 2128, as well as at iSport shops at Sun Star Castle – on Rua de S. Domingos 13A – and at Nova Mall, Shop G12-14, in Taipa. (Gilbert Humphrey)
