United States President Joe Biden has withdrawn from his re-election bid amid age concern as he endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris, 59, to run for the top office as a democratic candidate.
Writing in a statement over the weekend (US time), 81-year-old Biden said his withdrawal was “in the best interest of my party and the country”, according to a report by BBC. He also pointed out that he will remain president until January.
