The Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) will hold its 10th Gala Dinner and the 10th MECC EuroExcellence Awards at the Grand Pavilion of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau in Cotai on 10 May, with this year’s event set to showcase the theme of “Nordic Lights” complete with entertainment and cultural celebration.
Every year, the chamber chooses a theme for its annual gala dinner to showcase a country or a region in Europe.
“This provides an opportunity for our guests to experience the gastronomy, culture and entertainment of that part of Europe, while networking with their government and business peers,” Rui Pedro Cunha, president of the MECC’s Board of Directors, said at the gala dinner’s press conference held at the Grand Lisboa Palace recently.
He added, “This year’s theme is a reference to the beautiful Aurora Borealis that can be seen in the north of Europe during the fall and winter months. Our dinner will feature items of the gastronomy and entertainment of five Nordic countries, comprising Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.”
Meanwhile, the highlight of the event will be the presentation of the 10th MECC EuroExcellence Awards, which recognises exceptional individuals and organisations in the areas of luxury, food and beverage, blue and green innovation, as well as the “Greater Bay Area Sino-Europa Cooperation”.
Table price starts from MOP 17,000 while individual ticket price starts from MOP 1,800. This year’s gala dinner is supported by platinum sponsor SJM Resorts.
The MECC was founded in 2013. Meanwhile, the press conference was also attended by Filipe Cunha Santos, president of the 10th MECC EuroExcellence Awards, and Christian Buggelsheim, president of the MECC’s 10th Gala Dinner Organising Committee.
