Macau’s annual Christian parade, “Cheer Macao”, will this year be held from 3 pm to 7:30 pm on 21 September.
Jointly organised by local Christian churches, the “14th Cheer Macao Parade 2024” will kick off with an opening ceremony at Amizade Plaza (Sintra Square), after which participants will go around the city by walking or on a Cheer Macao bus to cheer the people of Macau with Christian and positive messages of encouragement.
At the same, various activities and games will be held at the Sintra Square during the parade, which will then end with a closing ceremony back at the square with a prayer over the city.
The event has been held every year since 2011 with the aim to promote the Christian culture and “make known the noble character of Christ”, according to the organisers.
Around 400 Christians in Macau joined last year’s parade. For more information about the event visit Cheer Macao’s Facebook page. (Gilbert Humphrey)
