The “1st Macao International Children’s Arts Festival (MICAF) – Music Camp” kicked off yesterday and the event will run until 21 August, with about 30 students participating and taking one-on-one musical instrument lessons and master classes carried out by the Academy of St Martin in the Fields during the camp, according to the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
The camp’s inauguration ceremony was held at the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape yesterday.
The camp is co-hosted by IC and Wynn Resorts (Macau) and produced by the Macao Orchestra Company.
Participants will rehearse and perform with Joshua Bell and string musicians from the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
The “Achievements Concert” will take place at CCM’s Small Auditorium at 7:45 pm on 21 August, while an open rehearsal will be held at the same venue at 10 am on the same day. Tickets to the concert are priced at MOP 300 and MOP 400, while tickets to the open rehearsal are priced at MOP 100.
