The 34th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will be held from 12 September to 4 October, with this year’s contest, themed “Set Sail for Macao, where the Silk Road Sparkles”, to combine fireworks and drone shows for the first time.
Organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the event this year will present firework shows by 10 companies from Brazil, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Portugal, Korea, Thailand, China, Philippines and the United Kingdom, according to a press conference held earlier this week.
Each team will present their display for about 18 minutes.
This year marks the debut of the fireworks companies from Brazil, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal in Macau, whereas the six other companies have previously competed in the SAR, including the British, Philippine and Chinese companies which won the top three places last year.
The contest will take place above the sea from across Macau Tower at 9 pm and 9:40 pm on 12, 19 and 25 September, as well as on 1 and 4 October. More information on this event is available via this link.
