Macau, with all its activities, is gradually returning to normal after the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) issued Typhoon Signal No. 3, replacing Signal No. 8, at 11 pm as Typhoon Ragasa continues to move further away from the SAR.
In addition, the local government terminated the city’s Immediate Prevention Stage at 11 pm. All emergency shelters were also closed as soon as the typhoon signal was downgraded.
At the same time, all four cross-sea bridges in Macau along with the Lotus Bridge, as well as Light Rapid Transit (LRT) and ferry services resumed operations.
Flight operations at the Macau International Airport, and the city’s public bus and special taxi services have also gradually resumed.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the cumulative number of affected flights at the local airport yesterday were 75 cancellations, three delays and four rescheduling, while today’s affected flights comprised 131 cancellations, 12 delays and two rescheduling.
Moreover, the immigration clearance services at the Macau-Zhuhai land ports resumed at 9 pm, while Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) shuttle bus – golden bus – services from Macau to Hong Kong will resume gradually from midnight.
Furthermore, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) has announced that secondary and higher education will resume classes tomorrow (25 September), while arrangements for primary, kindergarten and special education will depend on whether the current Signal No. 3 will remain in force at 6:30 am tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, as of 10 pm, the Civil Protection Operations Centre has recorded a total of 259 incidents throughout the Macau SAR, including 71 cases of “buildings/lamp posts/trees that are on the verge of collapse or have collapsed”, 147 cases of “concrete, signboards, windows, canopies or other objects falling or swinging, as well as six cases of “scaffolding, scales or other construction facilities falling or swinging. – GNM
