The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has downgraded the city’s typhoon warning to Topical Cyclone Signal No. 8 as Typhoon Wipha is gradually moving away from Macau.
Wipha continues to move wesward as the wind strength in Macau is expected to gradually ease.
However, Macau will continue to experience strong winds, heavy showers and thunderstorms after signal no. 10 was replaced with signal no. 8 at 5 pm, according to SMG.
As the typhoon impact “remains significant”, the bureau has advised the public to stay indoors in safe places and pay close attention to the latest weather information. (Gilbert Humphrey)
