The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has commissioned productions of mini drama series in various languages across Southeast Asia to promote Macau, particularly in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
The series features Macau’s sceneries filmed at iconic landmarks and vibrant communities, according to MGTO.
Set to debut tomorrow is “Cahaya Macao”, which tells the story of a superstar and his assistant during their work trip in the SAR.
It will be presented in parallel with featured content on social media and various advertisements in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, leveraging the influence of KOL (key opinion leader) stars and social networks to radiate a wider promotional impact.
For this six-episode production, MGTO has partnered with iQIYI for the filming, with the series starring Malaysian actor and model Ezaidi Aziz and Indonesian actress and lifestyle-and-travel influencer Sarah Tuffahati.
The series is produced in Malay, Indonesian and English languages, with each episode spanning about two minutes.
Meanwhile, MGTO also presents Indonesian and Thai mini drama series, “Don’t Make A Wish!” and “OFF THE PAGE!”, respectively, on its official TikTok account in August and September.
Comprising ten episodes, the Indonesian mini drama series “Don’t Make A Wish!” unfolds a story about an Indonesian girl awakening a fairy in Macau, according to the tourism office.
Released on 7 August, the series has engaged over 8 million views and 400,000 interactions cumulatively as of 27 August.
Furthermore, the 12-episode Thai series “OFF THE PAGE!”, scheduled to be released in September, tells the story of an office worker’s wonderful journey upon an encounter with a so-called prince from a fictional kingdom. More details on this report are available via this link.
