The Philippines has recently won its first FIFA World Cup ever when its team defeated host country New Zealand in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Wellington on 25 July. The New Zealand and Philippines match took place at Wellington Regional Stadium and ended with a score of 0-1. It is the Southeast Asian country’s first time to be qualified for any FIFA World Cup event. Its team lost out to Switzerland (0-2) on 21 July, and they are scheduled to play Norway on 30 July.
