A direct shuttle bus service between the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) Macau Port and the Hong Kong International Airport will soon be launched, Hong Kong & Macao International Airport Transportation Service (Macau) Vice General Manager Chan Man Iok told reporters recently. The shuttle service, called “HK Airport Direct”, will allow passengers to be transported directly to the Hong Kong airport’s restricted area without having to go through the immigration checkpoint there, while their baggage will be checked-in and boarding passes issued in Macau.

However, Chan did not reveal the actual date when the service will be launched but he said the 36-seater shuttle buses will operate between Macau and the Hong Kong airport every hour from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm daily, with the journey taking about 45 minutes or about half an hour less than the current service.

When it is launched, the ticket price for the first two months of trial will be HK$250 per trip to the Hong Kong airport, before the regular price becomes HK280 after. As with the Macau-Hong Kong airport ferry services, passengers will be able to claim a departure tax refund of HK$120 at the Hong Kong International Airport.

The ”HK Airport Direct” shuttle service’s operating hours are expected to be extended by this Christmas, which will include early morning services, with a plan to eventually make the service available 24/7, every 15 minutes, according to various media reports.
