The University of Macau (UM) recently presented some of its students with the “Henrique de Senna Fernandes Academic Prize for the Best Portuguese Thesis”, in celebration of the centenary of the late Macanese lawyer turned writer Henrique de Senna Fernandes’s birth.
Funded by the University of Macau Development Foundation (UMDF), the prize recognises postgraduate students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance in Portuguese-related fields.
Francisco Manuel Pelicano Antunes, Carla Alexandra Santos Lopes and Lang Sida, doctoral students in the Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and a master’s student in the Faculty of Law, Leong Kin Man, received the prizes for best doctoral theses and best master’s thesis in Portuguese for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic years, respectively.
