Visitor arrivals in January this year increased by 104.7 per cent year-on-year to 2,861,609 – 83.5 per cent of the level in the same month of pre-covid 2019. However, the figure represented a 2.8 per cent month-on-month drop, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Meanwhile, Macau registered nearly 1.36 million visitor arrivals in total throughout this year’s Spring Festival Golden Week (10-17 February), with the average daily figure nearing 170,000, according to Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
