The International School of Macao (TIS) hosted a dual event – a robotics competition and a university fair – last Saturday, showcasing the school’s commitment to fostering innovation, sportsmanship and academic excellence.

Titled “2024 International Macau Mecha Beast Brawl”, the robotics competition brought together six other schools in the Greater Bay Area (GBA): Canadian International School of Guangzhou (CIS), Utahloy International School Guangzhou (UISG), Stamford American School Hong Kong, Shen Wai International School (SWIS), Christian Alliance International School (CAIS) and Pui Ching Middle School Macau for an exhilarating day of robot matches, with over 100 participating students.

Meanwhile, the TIS University Fair featured representatives from three prestigious universities in London, namely Imperial College London, King’s College London and the University College London, who provided information about the application process, entrance requirements and students life in London, among others.

Attended by more than 150 people, the fair aimed to inspire students to explore the possibilities of higher education and broaden their horizons to universities abroad.

TIS Head of School Lorne Schmidt said: “These events reflect our commitment to providing our students with diverse opportunities for growth and learning. We believe that events like these inspire our students to strive for excellence and pursue their academic achievements.”
