The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Macau (AustCham), British Chamber of Commerce in Macao (BritCham) and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Macao (CanCham) joined forces in celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) yesterday, with a charity luncheon held at the St. Regis Hotel.
All proceeds went to charity organisation The Good Shepherd Sisters, which received MOP 40,000 from the charity luncheon, while BNU, Lord Stow’s Bakery and The International School of Macao (TIS) donated MOP 10,000 each.
The guest speakers at the event were Catarina Cottinelli da Costa, head of the Delegation of the Orient Foundation in Macau, Sands China Senior Vice President of Security Gabriella Chang and law firm MdME Partner Helena Kok.
“We have to inspire younger women to be able to not fear anything and just be as we are, bringing our skills and more emotional nature to our lives at work,” Cottinelli da Costa told Good News Macau.
The theme of this year’s IWD, celebrated every 8 March, was “Inspire Inclusion”. Cottinelli da Costa said: “To be more inclusive is to be closer to others.” (Gilbert Humphrey)
