IFTM LECTURER DAVID CHARLES WILEY JR. TO SERVE AS EXPERT LEAD FOR ‘BAKERY-47 PROJECT’ IN 47TH WORLDSKILLS COMPETITION IN FRANCE FROM 10-15 SEPTEMBER

The 47th WorldSkills Competition will take place in Lyon, France from 10-15 September, where Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) lecturer David Charles Wiley Jr. (pictured) will serve as the Expert Lead for the Bakery-47 project in the competition, having been invited for the role by the WorldSkills Organisation. 

The position of the Expert Lead is crucial in providing guidance, management and supervision to the team of experts throughout the WorldSkills Competition, guaranteeing the smooth flow of events and precise evaluations, according to an IFTM press release. 

Wiley has been an expert in the Bakery project since the 45th WorldSkills Competition in 2019. In this role, he has provided training to participants and guided them to achieve outstanding outcomes in the competition. He has regularly demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the competition. 

Meanwhile, the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) will lead the Macau delegation in the competition. The IFTM provides comprehensive training in five specific skill areas for participants of the WorldSkills Competition, comprising Bakery, Confectionary/Patisserie, Restaurant Service, Cooking (Western) and Hotel Reception.
