The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes attended the 14th China – U.S. Tourism Leadership Summit in Xi’an on 22 May at the invitation of China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during which she shared about aspects of Macau’s tourism industry in one of the panel discussions.

During the visit to Xi’an, Macau’s tourism office also had a meeting with the Shaanxi provincial departments concerned for a further exchange on preparations for the Macao Week in Xi’an and other topics on the agenda, leveraging the opportunity unlocked by Xi’an participation in the facilitated individual travel scheme this year to expand Macau’s reach in the mainland visitor market, according to MGTO.

The summit is organised by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and the United States Department of Commerce and Brand USA (the destination marketing organisation of the US).
