The Macao Grand Prix Museum, which is under the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), has partnered with Macau Creations Limited in organising the “Champion Car of the First Asian Grand Prix Macau – Illustration Competition”, which will start receiving applications from the coming Monday.
The competition aims to carry on Macau’s motorsport culture and is held to depict the “fascinating moments of Triumph TR2”, the car driven by the first champion in 1954 through illustrations, with the selected works to be exhibited to boost the appeal of the museum and the impact of “tourism + sports”, according to MGTO.
There are two categories in this illustration competition: Secondary School (secondary school students in Macau, aged 13-18) and Public (Macau residents aged 19 and above, with both categories to present first, second, third, merit, online choice and finalist awards.
Application period will run through 20 April. Participants are required to create their original illustrations on A3 paper (420 mm x 297 mm), without constraints on style and skills.
To ensure fairness and originality, digital painting or AI-generated works will not be accepted.
The judging panel will evaluate the works based upon standards of creativity, skills and aesthetics. The public can cast their vote online, which constitutes 30 per cent of the score, whereas 70 per cent is given by the judging panel. The first-round results will be announced in late April, while the final results will be delivered on 19 May, followed by an award ceremony at the grand prix museum on 23 May.
All the finalists’ and awarded works will be exhibited at the Macao Grand Prix Museum from 23 May to 1 September.
