Filipino singer-songwriter and Original Pilipino Music (OPM) legend Freddie Aguilar, best-known for being the writer and original singer of the 1978 international hit “Anak”, died at the age of 72 in Manila, Philippines on 27 May, reportedly due to multiple organ failure.
The song, originally in Tagalog, has sold more than 30 million copies and has been covered in over 20 languages, according to various media reports. (Gilbert Humphrey)
