The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has hoisted typhoon signal no. 10, the city’s highest typhoon alert as Typhoon Wipha is directly hitting Macau.
The bureau issued the T10 signal at 12:30 pm.
Meanwhile, most – if not all – of the city’s activities in various sectors have been cancelled due to Wipha’s impact, such as flights coming to and leaving Macau, as well as some of the 2nd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival’s (MICAF) programmes and activities scheduled for today.
The Medical Examination (Part 2) originally scheduled at 8:45 am today by the Public Security Forces Affairs Bureau for the 34th Police & Firefighter Training Programme of Macau’s Public Security Forces was postponed until further notice.
The “2025 International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao” held at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf came to an end yesterday, ahead of the original scheduled date of today.
Starting at 6 am today, the Border Gate, Qingmao and the Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone Checkpoints have all been temporarily closed. The date and time for the resumption of passengers’ immigration clearance services will be announced in due course, according to the Civil Protection Operations Centre.
Meanwhile, visitors to Macau are urged to stay in a safe indoor place and stay tuned to the latest weather updates available from SMG’s website, with the Macao Government Tourism Office’s (MGTO) Tourism Hotline (2833 3000) to remain in service round the clock.
