The “Merdeka 118” in Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to be completed this year and a Filipino architect named Mitchelle Gorope Ignacio is one of the architects behind the world’s second tallest structure and building, according to a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer. The 118-storey 678.9-tall skyscraper is the tallest building in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The word “merdeka” means “independence” in Malay.
