Two exhibitions are currently held at the Casa Garden – “AFA Autumn Salon 2023” and “Animal Theatre – Lai Sut Weng’s Solo Exhibition”. Jointly organised by Art For All Society (AFA) and the Orient Foundation, both exhibitions are being held at the Orient Foundation’s headquarters in front of the Luís de Camões Garden from 10 am to 7 pm daily, except Mondays and public holidays, until 26 November.
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the Autumn Salon, which began in 2010. A total of 45 Macau-based artists are participating in this year’s Autumn Salon, with 92 selected artworks.
Meanwhile, the exhibitions’ opening event on 11 November included the presentation of the “Orient Foundation Art Awards” to the previously announced winners. This year’s main Orient Foundation Art Award winning work is “Plagiarize” by Wong Sio Hang, while Wu Hao Zheng’s photography artwork “The Realm of Oyster” and Lai Ka Weng’s acrylic painting “A Nocturnal Walk” each received the Honourable Award.
Lai was awarded the Orient Foundation Art Award in 2014. She studied at the Macao Polytechnic Institute (now university) and the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, graduating from the latter in 2020 with a master’s degree. “Animal Theatre” is a series developed during her master’s degree study.
