The 24th Macau Food Festival kicked off on 15 November and it will run until 1 December, with its opening ceremony officiated by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng (pictured), who will be succeeded by Chief Executive-elect Sam Hou Fai on 20 December.

Apart from its usual rich variety of food stalls with an exciting selection of local and international cuisines, this year’s Macau Food Festival includes a special highlight: the “Chinese Style Hanfu Competition”, promoting traditional Chinese clothing and showcasing the nation’s rich cultural heritage. The culinary offerings include a side dish of live entertainment and games, adding to the festive feel, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

Held at the Sai Van Lake Square, right in front of Macau Tower, the food festival is open from 4 pm to 11 pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and from 3 pm to midnight on Fridays to Sundays. Admission is free.

The Macau Food Festival is organised by The United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macao (UAFBMM). For more information about the event visit UAFBMM’s website or the festival’s Facebook page.
