Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau has recently received “LEED O+M Gold Certification”, making it the first hotel in Macau to get the prestigious LEED Gold Certification under the LEED for Operations and Maintenance (O+M): Existing buildings – an internationally recognised milestone awarded by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The certification’s official presentation ceremony was held at the hotel’s Chinnery Ballroom on Tuesday, attended by members of the media, local organisations, sustainability experts and representatives of Macau universities. The ceremony event also opened the floor for conversations around responsible urban development, underlining the hospitality industry’s growing important role in shaping a more sustainable future.

During the ceremony, USGBC & GBCI North Asia Managing Director Andy To (pictured, right) presented the LEED O+M Gold Certification to Rutger Verschuren (left), Area Vice President, Macau and Hengqin of Artyzen Hospitality Group and General Manager of Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau.

Developed by USGBC, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the world’s most widely-used green building rating system. This recognition places Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau among a global network of over 197,000 certified projects in more than 180 countries and regions, collectively transforming the built environment for a more sustainable future – including some other LEED-certified projects in Macau. – GNM
