Rui Cunha Foundation (FRC) recently inaugurated a photography exhibition about East Timor, titled “A Voyage to the Land of the Crocodile in the Year of the Serpent”, showcasing the photos taken by Cristiana Figueiredo with texts by Bibi Ain.

Held at the foundation’s FRC Gallery, the photo exhibition kicked off on 22 July and will run until 2 August.

Subtitled “People.Places.Things”, the exhibition includes 25 photographs that visually reveal what the texts describe about emotions imbued in the small details of the journey, according to the authors, who embarked on a journey to East Timor – officially known as Timor Leste – in the beginning of this year.

“The journey was an intimate and awe-inspiring peek into East Timor, where seemingly disparate perspectives came together to create new perspectives on the people and places of this small wondrous country”, the traveling duo reveal in their manifesto.
