The Bairro da Ilha Verde Library on Rua de Lei Pou Chôn officially opened its doors on 30 September, making a significant enhancement to Macau’s reading resources.

The library’s opening ceremony was officiated by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng.

Spanning some 1,060 square metres, nearly twice the size of its predecessor, the library, which is under the city’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), has a collection of nearly 28,000 books and nearly 2,000 audio-visual materials, with various reading and study areas. (Jonathan Mohr)
