Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng met with Angola’s Secretary of State for Higher Education Eugénio Adolfo Alves da Silva at the Government Headquarters on Thursday to exchange views on the continuous promotion of higher education cooperation between Macau and Angola, according to the Government Information Bureau (GCS).
Ho (pictured, right) said Macau and Angola have always maintained close ties and a good relationship due to historical ties, and that Alves da Silva’s visit to Macau along with the delegation he led would deepen mutual understanding in the field of education as well as promote bilateral cooperation in education affairs.
Ho added that he looked forward to seeing more teachers and students from Angola coming to Macau for exchange and study.
Alves da Silva (pictured, left) said he believed Angola and Macau had potential for cooperation in areas such as teaching, research and curriculum development, adding that future cooperation agreements could promote reciprocal visits by teachers and students from both sides.
There are currently 22 Angolan students enrolled at various universities in Macau, according to the secretary.
